Baikal 141 Sable – second run

The Baikal 141 Sable second run – another day at the range with my little Biathlon-styled Baikal, chambered in .22longrifle.

No changes to my setup compared to the first shots, except for adding a bipod. To do this, I removed the original belt loop and mounted an adapter for the bipod (this adapter originally came from my Ruger 10/22 Tactical) and added an old bipod, which I might replace later with a Fortmeier or something similar, though I’m not quite sure yet.

The distance was 50 meters (indoor). The Baikal 141 Sable was supported on the stock and bipod. Each target received 10 shots, aiming at the pink dot, from a sitting shooting position. The scope was not adjusted during the entire session.

Baikal 141 Sable – second run resume

My picks from this run are the ELEY Subsonic Hollow, Lapua Biathlon Xtreme, and Lapua Polar Biathlon. All of them fall in the mid-price range (€10–20) and are currently widely available.

For the next—and possibly final—test, I plan to mount another scope (Vector Optics Minotaur 10–60) and maybe switch to the Fortmeier bipod and zero the sight with the TopShot Competition.

In the first test, the Top Shot mostly grouped around the 8-ring, so theoretically the ELEY Biathlon Club, Club, Match, Sport, and Lapua Polar Biathlon should land fairly centered.

The Biathlon Extreme and Lapua Long Range might hit a bit high, while the ELEY Subsonic Hollow and Lapua X-Act could be slightly low.

At least that’s the theory—the next practical test will show.

Lapua Long Range and ELEY Biathlon Club/Match (shot during the first test) will get another chance, so this is the line-up for the next test

  1. Lapua Biathlon Xtreme
  2. Lapua long range
  3. ELEY biathlon club
  4. ELEY Club
  5. ELEY match
  6. ELEY sport
  7. Lapua Polar Biathlon
  8. ELEY subsonic hollow
  9. Lapua X-Act

Thanks for reading and stay tuned 😉
