Made in Russia: The Tula TOZ-17-01, based on the TOZ-17 ( which was designed 1956 – 1957 ), is a bolt action repeating rifle chambered in caliber .22lr.
It is a so called „cadet rifle“, which is used for training and hunting and was produced from 1976 on.

The Tula TOZ 17 is a .22 LR, bolt-action repeating rifle with a 5-round detachable magazine. It was designed in 1956. It has a similar appearance, sights and functions much the same as the Mosin–Nagant rifle. It intended for professional and amateur hunting and sport shooting.

  1. Tula and Izhevsk ( Baikal ) were both state arms producers – parts were exchanged between factories, especially during shortages. So mixed materials were not unusual. There are also reports of TOZ rifles with Baikal buttplates directly from the factory, especially in export versions. ( by Co-Pilot ) ↩︎
